Market, Yourself

Has this ever happened to you?

You've completed your masterpiece. Carefully bound the pages. Suffered papercuts and Hello Kitty bandages courtesy of your local Kinkos. Made sure your shipped a copy off to your Mom/Dad/Significant Other (or several copies if you are not from the south). And then sat back and watched with an ever-fading bliss as your hard work begins to collect dust.

Well, no more!

I've compiled a resource documenting some of the best marketing practices for DIY publishers, drawing from my own *inexpensive* experiences and scouring the web for other *cough*inexpensive*cough* options. Oh, and did I mention several of the options are really inexpensive or include tips on how to keep them from becoming too much of a burden on your wallet.
Afterall, the goal is to make a little, right? Not throw it all to the wind.

Heck, even the article is FREE.

You can download it right here in High Res for you print-happy folks (still only 3MB) or low-res if you're still having Internet fun with dial up (at 560KB).

Your Article is one of my favorites! All your successful experience in self-publishing made this article worth reading. It was very practical and can be used as a helpful reference in the future. Your images work well and work as a topic organizer through out indesign. Your personal touch made this article successful. I really enjoyed all the various networking sources that you listed, some I never even knew existed. I can honestly say that you out shined me because of our choice in topic. I am very impressed with all your experience in self publishing and I appreciate all your help in teaching the rest of us. I have learned a lot from you. It seems like experience is the only way to learn about business/marketing and you seem like the most successful person in this topic. You should teach a class one day! Awesome work. It was very thoughtful. Thank you!

Andrew, your article was so informative I've printed it out and left it very close to my desk! You've really done so much more than just write about cost effective methods of putting yourself/your work out there. you've mapped out a full strategy. this was incredibly well done -- thorough and comprehensive!!

This was just great. I will definitely keep this article on my desktop for awhile and access it when I get ready to put myself out there. It has been very helpful to hear about your experiences in self-publishing, the trials, the success, the problems, and I appreciate you sharing these bits of knowledge with us through this whole semester. Your article was very practical, and you've done a great job of condensing tons of complex information into something that is a "quick and easy" read -- makes marketing not seem so loathesome!
